BlockBar Welcomes Artisanal Wines Into NFT Marketplace

BlockBar, a blockchain-powered marketplace for wines and spirits, has expanded its NFT marketplace to include artisanal wines and spirits. The latest initiative encompasses new partnerships with winemakers and distillers who may not be accessible through traditional channels. The firm believes this is a celebration of top quality, authenticity, and true craftsmanship.

This move, aimed at onboarding more wine enthusiasts into the NFT realm, coincides with the platform’s third anniversary. Founded in 2021 by cousins Dov and Samuel Falic, BlockBar operates as a direct-to-consumer NFT platform. Purchasing a tokenized wine or spirit grants holders ownership of a physical bottle.

The wine marketplace’s latest move is grouped under the Artisanal Producer program. BlockBar seeks to create new opportunities for smaller, independent producers by enabling them to showcase their products to a global audience. Introducing these products on the platform is also expected to provide new exposure and sales channels for boutique producers without access to international markets.

BlockBar’s target audiences include young consumers, especially Millennials and Gen Z, seeking exclusive, hard-to-find products. Emphasizing how younger buyers could fast-track the artisanal release, BlockBar’s co-founder Dov Falic said:

“These consumers are eager to discover unique, independent producers not available in traditional retail channels. For our artisanal releases, our model remains unchanged: purchasing an NFT which represents ownership of the physical bottles. Owners can choose to store, gift, sell, or redeem their NFTs for the physical bottles, which can be shipped worldwide.”

The wine and spirits marketplace beckoned interested customers to join the BlockBar Artisanal Membership Club to gain early access to the bottles. After their first purchases, the buyer receives a limited edition T-shirt.

Notably, BlockBar has dipped its feet into the non-fungible waters. In May, the wines marketplace partnered with the Louis Vuitton-owned Château d’Esclans to auction NFT wines. Each digital collectible granted holders ownership of a physical bottle securely stored and verified through BlockBar’s blockchain-enabled infrastructure.

BlockBar’s latest move shows its unswerving commitment to growing its community. It also underscores the firm’s goal to onboard as many people as possible into the non-fungible realm.
