Animoca Brands Secures $10M in Funding to Expand Mocaverse
Hong Kong-based gaming software firm Animoca Brands has secured an additional $10 million in funding for its Mocaverse project, building on previous investments totaling $31.88 million.
This funding will help accelerate the growth of Mocaverse, a membership NFT project owned and managed by Animoca Brands. The investment includes support from notable firms such as OKX Ventures, CMCC Global, Sequoia China (now HongShan), and others.
The latest cash injection will expand Mocaverse’s infrastructure, particularly its Account, Identity, and Reputation systems. These systems aim to drive mass consumer adoption of crypto and Web3 technology. One key component to building this infrastructure is the Realm SDK, a tool that enables partners to create a decentralized ecosystem that works seamlessly with the Moca Network.
Since its launch, Mocaverse has rolled out various features to upscale its usage. An example is its Moca ID system, with over 1.79 million IDs registered and 160 Web3 partnerships formed. Recent additions to the Mocaverse ecosystem include collaborations with companies like Anime Foundation, MyAnimeList, and One Football, potentially reaching over 218 million active users. Additionally, Mocaverse has partnered with the TON Foundation to expand its reach to Telegram’s 900 million active users.
Commenting on the latest cash influx, Animoca Brands’ co-founder Yat Sui said:
“With Mocaverse and its Realm Network we are bringing the Web3 ethos of interoperability to life, driving decentralization and shared network effects across the broader Web3 ecosystem. The raise announced today features participation from esteemed and strategically important investors, and we are honored by this level of support as we work to advance digital property rights, interoperability, and the evolution of the internet into more equitable decentralized systems.”
Animoca Brands is a prominent player in the NFT and metaverse realm. Recently, the company partnered with The Sandbox to launch the Universal Peace Sanctuary. This virtual gamified experience aims to offer users a unique atmosphere with digital engagement in the metaverse.
With this new investment, Animoca Brands is focused on advancing its vision of creating a decentralized space for users and creators alike. This way, more individuals and institutions will likely develop an interest in the non-fungible realm.
